Janice didn’t think she cared much about her reputation anymore. But Katrina had lost the beat in their encore, fumbling to catch up with the song that she was supposed to be the beating heart of, and now Janice was going to be the one getting the heat. Because she was the one singing, and she was the one that drew the crowds - at least, the mainstream crowds. Josh had his admirers, as did Rachel and Katrina. Janice Wood, though? She wasn’t just good, she was great.
That was exhausting sometimes.
What was even more exhausting was the look that Katrina had given her at the end of that song.
So what, maybe it wasn’t her reputation that she cared about. Maybe she didn’t care what the thousands of people in the crowds thought. Maybe the eyes that followed her from behind the drum kit were the ones that she really wanted to captivate.

“Yes,” Lorenzo chimed in. He was artfully draped across D’Artanio’s lap, effectively taking up most of the booth in the restaurant where they had agreed to meet, and leaving Josh and Katrina squeezed together on the far side.
“And,” Josh continued, “they’re in the zoo. Mountport Zoo.”
