Under the pretense of relaxing now that they've returned from Il Mheg, Rhyun'a Amariyo invites Urianger over for tea and treats, something they used to share frequently during the Warrior of Light’s on and off visits to the lone guardian of the Waking Sands. Unfortunately for him Urianger would much rather fuss over his physical health. Or should he say fortunate, since it gives him a chance to be close to the fallen star he's had eyes for. Maybe, despite everything, they can use this moment to find a bit of joy together.

Hythlodaeus‘s voice was rich like honey oolong tea. D’fhiri ceased the irritated thumping of her tail for just a moment as she looked down from her perch in the tree to register his arrival. She’d wandered off into the outskirts of the floating island and curled up in the highest place she could find to oversee the drifting sea of clouds below.
It was meant to be a calming sight, but she couldn’t help replaying Emet-Selch’s venomous words again and again in her mind.
You cannot be entrusted with our legacy.
Who are you? No one. Nothing.
You don’t know me.Her head lolled against the smooth, worn trunk of the tree, a species she was nearly certain didn’t exist anymore. Hythlodaeus had a hand on his hip, a soft smile trained up at her.
“I’m not sure I believe that,” she grumbled.
After Emet-Selch runs from an omen of the future, Hythlodaeus tracks down this shard of Azem to provide some much-needed comfort.

She was not unlike his late son, in that way. Normally smiling openly and filled with good cheer, but silent and brooding when something was on her mind. Though the thought that Haurchefant would no longer grace his doorway, gently rapping on the door frame in much the same manner, to seek his advice saddened him, it had become easier in recent days. Especially with his young lover visiting as often as she was able, bringing along the scent of foreign soil and sun in her hair. Brighter places that they wanted to visit together, but were never able to.
