也许那个声音是对的。当他被允许做决定的时候，他会做一些事情，比如在实验室里把扎克拖进更深的地狱，在他试图救他的时候把他压下去，在他死的时候无所事事地看着他死去，然后救他自己。不能相信他会做出选择，因为他总是选错。如果这就是他做决定时发生的事如果他的朋友要为此付出代价也许他应该停手。
他的脸上一定流露出羞愧、内疚和羞辱，因为萨菲罗斯嘲笑他，轻轻地嘲笑他。

这些话强化了克劳德曾经有过的每一个消极想法，快乐也强化了这些话。这种组合就像一把锋利无比的刀，把这些真相深深地刻在克劳德的脑海里，让他永远无法忘记这些真相，让他永远无法抛开所有为什么在他的一生中，没有人应该相信他会做出正确决定的理由。
“当她在火车站发现你的时候扎克的血还在你的脸上和头发上你最大的罪孽还在你的脸上和头发上你说服了她一切都没事。因为你是士兵第一，不是吗？这只是工作的一部分，你只是尽你的职责，对她撒谎，说服她你流血是为了保护人们的安全而不是杀了那个一直保护你的人。你可能从来没有说过那些话，但是你用尽一切办法暗示了那些话，这说服了她接受你。你告诉她你是来自尼伯海姆的克劳德斯特莱夫，他实现了成为一名士兵的诺言，而不是沾满救世主鲜血的拒绝战士克劳德斯特莱夫。”
克劳德的呼吸一团糟浅而粗糙而且太快了。他的手紧紧抓住萨菲罗斯的手腕，足以抓伤其他任何人，他的手指已经把压在墙上的金属压出了凹痕。他猛地扑到萨菲罗斯的手上，手腕刚好扭到位，头靠在身后的墙上，羞愧的泪水顺着脸颊滑落。
“你骗她认为你有你没有的一切认为你有扎克有的一切。因为你爱他，不是吗？你非常非常爱他，爱到骨子里都疼。他从来不知道，就算他知道，也什么都没说，因为他知道你不够好，他是个好人，不能丢下你不管。你全心全意地爱着他，但你的爱一直是毒药，不是吗？你杀了你爱的人，你一直都是这样。你杀了扎克”
他一边说着，一边用拇指从克劳德的伤口中滑过，他浑身颤抖，胸口发出一声呻吟。萨菲罗斯把嘴凑近克劳德的耳朵，这样他就可以听到他的喘息声、呜咽声和呜咽声，他的大脑因为太模糊而无法停下来。
“你们差点杀了爱丽丝，她逃跑的唯一原因是因为你们并不真正爱她，只是感觉到了扎克对她爱的回声。你也欺骗了她，用各种方式告诉她除了说你确实爱她之外，然后你挥舞着刀子离她只有一英寸。但是你太失败了，我不得不帮你收拾烂摊子。

萨菲罗斯的嘴唇轻轻拂过他的耳朵，他的话发出咕噜咕噜的声音，直达他的内心深处，缠绕在他的骨头、脑干和身体的每一个细胞上。如果他说的是一把剑，那么每一个字都是克劳德无法招架的一击，每一个音节都是手腕的转动来解除他的武装。他感到浑身是血，赤身裸体。他能感觉到萨菲罗斯在他的脑子里翻来覆去，翻阅着过去的记忆和情感，把它们拆开，躺在克劳德的眼前，指着每一寸该死的地方。他能感觉到萨菲罗斯的话在记忆中的回响，知道他说的都是事实，这些都是他之前告诉自己的谴责，因为它们都是准确的。
“这就是为什么给我黑色魔晶石的感觉那么好，克劳德。你总是给自己找各种各样的借口说是我在你脑子里演戏说是我在控制你说是我把你变成了傀儡我总是说你在那一刻就是傀儡。但我们都知道那是因为你和我一样想让这个世界燃烧因为你的仇恨是圣火就像你的爱是砒霜两者的结合总是会毁灭这个世界。那是摇头丸克劳德深入骨髓的摇头丸因为你给了我一种方法去做那些你自己都不敢做的事。你知道我没有你的保留意见，我会做你做不到的事，给我这个机会让你感到难以想象的高兴。”

The last thing Reno remembered was a muscle man with something to prove sitting next to him.
Spouting a few choice words.
Downing the last bit of his drink; and offering nothing but a shrug.
Till his face was against the concrete dirt and some middle-aged man’s fist caught his eye.
And Reno had to laugh at the vision of one of the more ruthless Turks on the floor in the back alley of a shitty bar, just letting this gentleman- who had probably never been in a real fight- add fresh black and blues.
And he wished for a moment he was back when Wall Market still existed,
And he was a rockstar.
And could walk into any whore house and the women would flock to him; like he was the flame.
And for a moment he felt synthetic happiness.
Then the man was off him.
Against the flimsy wooden wall that kept the bar together. When Reno’s eye adjusted, he considered the possibility that he actually passed out when he saw the ex-SOLDIER, non-SOLDIER, had the man by the neck with one hand and his other on the hilt of his sword.
Surprise. To say the least. Cloud Strife, the two time hero. The puppet who took down the master had been missing from both Reno’s good days and bad days; an absence Reno felt when the alcohol hadn’t clouded his brain. Somewhere beneath his chest, where his heart still thumps against his ribcage, that he neither understands nor desires. He begged for silence at the bottom of a bottle.
Emotions are a death sentence for a Turk.
But he feels it for a moment when he sees Cloud illuminated by dull orange alley lights. The thump. The hint of life.

Funny, that they both desired atonement; Cloud just went about it more proactively.
Which pissed the red-head off and caused him to storm off on more than one occasion,
Because it was just that easy for Cloud to be the hero
And it was too appealing for Reno to remain the villain.

Rufus Shinra and his Turks join the WRO and cause much more turmoil than possible but yet another threat arises when things heat up between the ex-turk and a certain annoying redhead.
"Vincent felt the rumble deep inside him that was coming from Chaos. He was surprised at the demon's open admission. Reno's smirk only widened to a more feral one. That rumble sounded surprisingly like a purr."

Even now, though they’ve gone through hell and back and saved the world over and over again, it’s all the mundane things he does for her that she notices best.
