These daydreams were teenage-Richie's little annual tradition, and despite the slight melancholy they would bring every time a fantasy would come to an end when he'd be thrust back into reality, he learned to anticipate and treasure his little private, imaginary scenarios. They kept him from feeling quite as lonely every holiday season as Eddie was whisked away to Haven against his will to spend the holiday with his aunts, while he stared out into the cold, Derry twilight, humming Blue Christmas to himself and tracing frowny faces into the condensation on the windows.
If only teenage Richie could see himself now.

Obsessed with his mission, Richie is exploring supposedly haunted places after supposedly haunted places, losing a little bit of himself after each disillusion.
Back from another one of his trips, Richie discovers a message left by an anonymous person: Don't go to Room 1408. He doesn't know it yet, but Richie is about to face the worst... But maybe for the best?
Inspired by the short story "1408" by Stephen King and its movie adaptation.

Eddie chuckles. “I can’t say I haven’t thought about it.”
Richie sits up to look at Eddie more directly. “Thought about what?”
Eddie scoffs. “You,” he says, like that’s really an answer. “Being - involved. Kind of worried you might fuck it up, though.”
Eddie is being mean on purpose but Richie just shakes his head. “No way. I’ll do whatever you want. Sir yes’sir.”
Eddie blanches and Richie grins back. “Richie,” Eddie says. Richie is sitting back on his knees now and Eddie leans forward, strokes his fingers through Richie’s hair and then takes a fistful of it in his fingers. Richie’s dick twitches. “Don’t call me sir.”
