After a moment, Eddie exhales a breath through his flared nostrils that sounds like fury and takes a step away from Richie. “You need to leave, Rich.” He shakes his head and waves the paper in his hand in a gesture of flippancy. “You need to go home, man.”
It's Richie's turn to shake his head as he buries his hands deep in his pockets. “See, the problem with that is, I kinda made this firm resolution that I wouldn't be leaving here without you.”
“You're insane, Richie.” Eddie looks somewhat frightened now, and Richie wonders if he got too carried away. He settles on the first supposition that crawls out of the darkest recesses of his mind and decides: yes, he has very much crossed the line—but he can't bring himself to care.

Richie’s eyebrows were drawn together. He looked hurt. “You don’t have to hide it from me, Eddie. You can tell me that you’re in love with someone, even if he’s a guy. That won’t make me stop being your friend. Hell, who am I to talk?” He let out a self-deprecating chuckle.
Eddie’s eyes widened. He didn’t know what to say.

On the other end of the phone, Stan scoffs. "Why wouldn't he give Eddie the letter, William?" he demands. "Is the goal here not to tell him how he feels?"
Bill glares down at the phone. "We don't wanna f-force anything, Stan," Bill argues. "Maybe he just needs to get the words out of his system and m-move on?"
"Or maybe," Stan counters, "he's had these feelings since we were literal children, and it's time to shit or get off the pot." He pauses, and then says, a bit quieter, like it's directed away from the phone. "Excuse the language, babylove."

Eddie’s accepted that he really is gay for some time now; it’s a new feeling, knowing that about himself after years of denial, but he’s never actually seen a man in front of him and wanted that man. And he wants Richie; his entire body feels hot with the awareness, something that seems obvious now.
Too late he realizes that Richie’s gone pale, he’s stopped, and his eyes are still wide. His mouth opens like he’s going to say something; he presses his lips together, his face gets red, and he points at Eddie. “Fuck you, man,” he says, and then strides through the water back up the beach and to the house.

Eddie has never thought himself to be the jealous type. Because for the span of two decades, he was trapped in a loveless marriage and he had no reason to be jealous. Sure, he’d glare now and again at Myra’s male coworkers who got just a little too friendly, but that was just a performance. He was just going through the motions, doing what he was supposed to do. There was no actual heat behind it.
This, though. This is all heat. Eddie’s watching this fucking LA spray tan B-list actor put his hands on Richie Tozier, on Eddie’s Richie Tozier, and he feels like there’s flames licking up the sides of his throat. He feels like he’s about to go fucking postal on the craft services guy who’s literally doing nothing except minding his own business.

In the night of Eddie‘s death, a piece of Richie had died with him. Never in his life had he felt this kind of hopelessness, every second alive brought never ending pain with it. Then one night a guardian appeared, proposing a deal:
They bring Eddie back and in exchange Richie had to give up half of his remaining life span.
For him an obvious choice, but the problem was, that if Eddie found out about it, he could break the deal and Richie would get his lost years back and his friend would go back to being dead. Knowing Eddie, Richie knew that he had to do everything he can to keep the deal a secret.
But Richie isn‘t a very good liar, especially when he and Eddie seem to be closer than ever...

There’s an endless stream of praise falling out of Richie’s mouth, punctuated by the occasional groan when he hits the back of Eddie’s throat, and Eddie’s not picking up on most of it. His ears catch on a few “good boy”s, and more than once on the word “perfect,” which makes his heart swell about five sizes, but beyond that, Richie’s love-drunk murmurings are just adding to the pleasant white noise that Eddie has buzzing around in his head.
Until Richie says, “good boy, fuck, good boy. God, baby, gonna keep you here forever, keep you on your knees, fuck, that’s what’s best for you, hm? That’s what you’re good at?”
And suddenly, Eddie’s not having fun anymore.
