Forsyth's lips twitched into a crooked smile. He opened his mouth, and the rot gushed over his tongue and between his teeth, dribbled over his lips to the ground and still he smiled. He laughed, and Python heard the sound of crunching leaves, and then Forsyth's voice was like the crackle of ice breaking over a frozen lake.
“You killed me,” he said.
Then, over his shoulder, like warmth returned, “You did worse than that.”
