Clopin in addition to leading the gypsies of Paris has another responsibility, raising his son and preparing him for his role as the future leader of their people. This fic is an alternative fic that follows the movie with a focus specifically on the Court of Miracles, Clopin Trouillefou, his son, and the Gypsies.

Prompt:
Esmeralda never managed to find Phoebus in that river - he died a cruel and long death in his watery grave.
Quasimodo never managed to rescue Esmeralda - she burned to death in agony at the stake.Years later:
Quasimodo dies alone and broken in the belltower - even the Gargoyles wouldn't talk to him since that fateful day. He lived the rest of his life without joy, abandoning all arts and simply doing his duties.
Frollo dies the same day as Quasimodo - just as ignorant and self-righteous as he was his whole life.
Both meet Esmeralda and Phoebus again.
Frollo meets them in Hell - the pain and suffering they endured in death manifested in grotesque versions of them, tormenting him for eternity.
Quasimodo meets the real Esmeralda and Phoebus in Heaven - they are the ones who introduce him to his parents.-
