I just had a thought of a prompt like "what if someone else's Esmeralda was Quasimodo". It's something new for me (a non-hobbit fanfiction??) but hopefully in a good way.
Alain is a young man in the 1482, his health poorly due to his poor mental health. He was in bed for most of the events that happened since the Feast of Fools, but decides to venture into the crypts below the Notre Dame with a strange fascination after learning about a certain hunchback. Alain just didn't expect this man to look so kindly at him.
And he dares to hope, this man might even care for him. -
