Hooper didn't know how those few words could make his heart lurch into his throat. He found himself kissing Quint deeply, passionately, as though he were afraid to let go. Of course he was afraid, he was kissing a man. What would his parents think? What would the world think? Two men together? It felt like a sin.
Well then, Hooper was a sinner.
He gasped into Quint's open mouth and inhaled deeply through his nose, and he felt like he was running out of air.
