The view is...wrong somehow, like someone had slipped in and shifted everything five inches right or left before she woke up. There are things out of place, things that don't belong. She remembers a shop where an apartment building is now and when she thinks about it too long a sharp needle like ache starts above her left eye. The suddenness of it pauses her, fingers pressing against all the spaces it hurts. It's not the first time this has happened and she doubts it would be the last, not until she dug through and understood what it was that wasn't right.

Daddy always says she should practice her math more. Maybe if she practices hard enough the universe will admire her and make the ground hurt less.
