“Why don’t you just ask around?” she asked him. “Heroes have stories and people are always eager to tell them. I’m sure any of the Greeks could tell you more about him.”
“It’s not a bad idea,” Jordan added. “It would be nice knowing exactly why he was part of the prophesied Seven. I know the Venus girl had sorcery and the Vulcan boy obviously had power over fire. But why Jackson? Just because they took a boat?”
Despite raising him on a shield, Romans don't know much about Percy Jackson, or even the Greeks in general. As the Legion attempts to recover from the wars, they find out there is far more to the Son of Neptune then they originally thought, and learn quite a few things about themselves along the way.

Summary
London was fun. It was a nice change of pace, far away from gods and monsters - it meant that Percy finally felt like he could breathe.
Of course, that’s when things start going wrong.
Honestly, Percy should really start to mind his own business. But when he heard the scream - he had let instincts take over, assuming the worst as usual. After all, when it came to him the worst usually turned out to be reality.

“We can’t bring him. He’s a monster.” Annabeth said, putting her foot down and glaring at Tyson.
Tyson whimpered.
All the frustration and anger of seeing Tyson getting bullied all year at the mortal school and camp, and all the bullying Percy had been through just for sticking close to Tyson exploded and Percy saw red.
“He is not a monster.” Percy growled back, fed up. “Tyson is a being with thoughts and feelings, and just as deserving of respect as you and I. He’s never hurt anyone who hasn’t hurt me or him first. Considering how you’re treating him, dehumanizing him and calling him an it, gross and monster, I’m starting to wonder if you’re the real monster here, Annabeth.”

Percy had trained muscles that he didn’t know he had. At the end of every day, he had to drag himself back to bed because of how exhausted he was. Still, he had a smile on his face. The exertion felt pleasant, the ache of hard work felt delicious, and the shadow of doubt he had felt when fighting with Chrysaor about his skills was no longer existent.
And, most importantly, his love life was finally on the track he wanted.
Life was good.
So, naturally, that is when it all had to go to shit.

Summary
Despite what anyone said, Percy was not dumb. Oblivious at times, sure, but he could use context clues pretty well, especially since spending his free time with Annabeth had opened him up to a higher level of emotional intelligence.
But in that moment, boy did he wish he was dumb, standing in the living room with his three parents, who were clearly engaged in something he had never even considered before, and something he never wanted to consider again.

"I know that look." Paul says, interrupting Percy from his thoughts.
"What look?"
"The same one your other dad is wearing." Paul replies, drawing Percy's attention to Poseidon.
The greek god is leaning in the doorway. On his face is the most tender expression Percy has seen on him yet, and that's saying something considering that Percy has seen Poseidon tuck Tyson into bed when his nightmares from the wars overwhelmed him, and hold Estelle as she cried hoarsely as she battled through her first case of the flu. Percy gets it though. He's feeling the same way. His entire immediate family is in this room: his mom, gently brushing Tyson's hair. Estelle, working through her sugar rush by crawling in between him, Poseidon and Paul. His dad, actually physically here within reach where Percy can see and touch him.
"Everyone's safe and home." Percy explains. Seeing his entire family safe and happy, it settles something inside him that he had been sure that he lost during all the vicious killings - and worse - in the past two wars. He knows his dad is feeling the same way. Both of them are alike in that way. "I'm happy." Percy says, finally.
Paul kisses his forehead. "I'm glad. You both deserve it."
