Summary
There's one word Saiki Kusuo would use to describe the life he's led since college: boring. But, he would always say it was a good kind of boring, like he always wanted. But not anymore though. This boredom was easy to ignore at first, but as the years have dragged on at a snail's pace but also simultaneously distressingly quickly, one day Kusuo realises he doesn't enjoy his life anymore.
In the years since high school, our psychic has attained his dream of an ordinary life, but is it still what he wants? It's kind of boring, isn't it? After a series of frustrating events and a costly mistake, he takes the time to reflect upon this, and has an unexpected realisation.
Meanwhile, elsewhere in Japan, a woman who by all accounts was expected to have an easy life has had anything but. Betrayed by everyone, evicted by her family, about to hit her breaking point and end it all, she manages to find herself in exactly the right place and time…
