She is trying to keep her country functioning and her House afloat so she accepts Malkieri refugees into her kingdom and forges a political marriage with al'Lan Mandragoran (sounds juicy but it's probably not what you think). Together they find themselves entwined in a complex situation of Cairhienin politics and contradicting Aiel prophecies. Additionally, they are in their early twenties, trying to figure themselves with all the hidden trauma and their hard-to-define relationship out. Borderlander erotica is being read several times. Moiraine Sedai returns to a time before she was an Aes Sedai to walk a new path. The foundations of the Westlands have been shaken by the ripple effects of the change.
The Damodred conflict threatens once more to embroil all of the Westlands. In the advent of that conflict, the White Tower, Cairhien, and Andor prepare. The Pattern continues to weave, and the pieces are shuffled once more, touching all--from a woman called Shaiel in the Waste to the Sun Queen herself, to the budding group of Aes Sedai in training, eagerly pushing to become Aes Sedai.
