    Melkor has broken through the Doors of Night and escaped from the Timeless Void. He has fled back to Middle-earth to Angband, the last dark citadel of the north since the fall of Utumno in the First Age. Melkor’s chiefest servant, Sauron, has heard his master’s call and joins him there after the fall of Eregion to further plot the dominion of Middle-earth, having failed to obtain the rings of power and unable to forge his own in the land of Mordor.

    Galadriel, one whom Sauron had previously aligned himself with through deception, still burns from his betrayal years later. She now roams the wilds with a company of Elves and is eventually captured by forces from Angband and taken there as prisoner. When Melkor takes Galadriel for his own pleasure, Sauron is torn between the Elf he had developed treacherous feelings for years before, or his master that he bound himself to many millennia ago, and that he worships and serves with all his body and soul.

    She could feel her pulse between her thighs, and her hands pressed against the cold stones behind her. She was desperate to temper the rising heat.

    When she finally managed to speak, the words came out as a whisper. “Yes.” She swallowed, and his gaze dipped down to her throat like a predator studying his cornered prey.

    His eyes shifted back up to meet her own, and she could see her own hunger reflected upon his face. It was a dangerous hunger, the kind that one would commit atrocities to sate.

    Halbrand’s lips spread to reveal a lupine smile. He was beautiful and beastly all at once.

    “If my lady is pleased…then so am I.”

The Elves he believed to be weak were reinforced by Numenoreans, and the lot of them followed him to Barad-Dûr, probably informed by Tyelpë that the tower was taken. Damned, damned be that Elf, damned be his tender voice, his loving hands, his gentle lips, and his traitorous nature. Damned be Mairon’s aching heart and the disturbing wetness on his eyes. Damned be Middle Earth, and damned be this war.
