A mighty precursor to One More Time, even if it isn't finished. The "Post bad end gang plays OMORI" idea is probably one of my favorites, and one of the few times I concede that a fic is better for being set post bad end. It's up there with dreamsharing in Headspace in terms of ideas I just like. It's unfortunate that there aren't that many fics like this that I've run into. I should go on a big search for those...
Either way, this is the singular fic from this author that has more than one chapter, and it's really good, even if it's only increased the number of chapters by 2.Like most things from the author, I hope this continues some day! Though it likely won't.

This is unfinished, and frankly hardly started, but what's here is very good! It's short, and really doesn't have much to chew on aside from just "Oh Aubrey's here" but I think that's an interesting enough concept to start out with. Very unlikely that it'll be continued, seeing as it's been over 4 years since it got it's one and only upload, but we can dream. For now, I'd suggest using the platform this and other fics like it give you for inspiration for making your own fic, maybe you can be the one to write the Sunburn hurt/comfort of your dreams!

But he was in so much pain—up his left side, his chest and upper back, his neck. The only time he was pain-free was when he was deep in the mire of his subconscious, where he could be twelve years old again, cancer such a foreign concept that he didn’t even really know what it was.

Years in the past, before the recital, before the incident, all of Basil's friends find out that he's never had a birthday party before! Aubrey comes up with the bright idea to throw him a surprise party.
And they do! But as they're working on it, Hero can't help but wonder what happened to Basil's parents, considering he's been taken care of his grandmother since he was just a child. They're never there, like ghosts. They don't appear in photos, nor does Basil or his grandmother talk about them. He's trying to be respectful, but he can't help but get the urge to ask.
Or: Basil not having birthday parties makes Hero curious as to where his parents are, leading to a conversation with Basil's grandmother.

The most well written fic(s) I've ever read when it comes to characterization. Despite rape and incest not being explicitly present in Omori, the Hands series portrays the acts in a way that feels grounded in the game's overarching themes. I don't think I'll be reading again anytime soon, but I'm choosing to bookmark as a memorial of sorts.
