Summary

Summary
A troubled life is an understatement for Todd Dixon, who wished he had grown up with a father who was more understanding of his sexuality and a mother who would've stood up for him.
He grew up alone and distrustful, facing a lot of pain in his life so once he had the opportunity to apply to college, he took it and usually kept to himself while in college.
But, while on a trip to Rome, he and another human called Marco find themselves kidnapped by an alien anthro wolf called Amicus before winding up on Amicus' homeworld called Adastra.
As they struggle to adjust to their new surroundings, they soon discover that as Amicus and his brother Cassius compete in a battle for the throne, they learn that not everything is as it seems as those from the lowest servant to even the gods themselves might have a hidden agenda with the fate of Adastra hanging in the balance.

Cassius accidentally inserts himself into the grand plan that the parents had been cultivating marginally shifting the future. Cassius, after his poisoning, is back at the palace reliving those thoughts and coming to terms with his feelings for Alexios. Neferu is quick to offer help and then finds that he and the prince have much more in common than he had presumed. While Cassius feels vulnerable, he finds himself growing quickly attached to the young pharaoh and must decide if his brain is filling in the gap left by Alexios or if there is something else going on.
