What Draco doesn't know (yet): after Harry Potter testified in favour of Draco, the Wizengamot was considering sentencing him to five years in Azkaban and 10 years on probation. However, an offended party came forward and gave a testimony which changed the sentencing.
But Draco will be fine, really, this offended party's aim was not to drive Draco to despair, oh no. They'll make sure Draco lives a long, blissful life, serving the magical community as an apprentice Healer, Unspeakable, and the test subject for St Mungo's Draco Malfoy Ward for Magical Surrogacy.
