If you didn't know there is a theory that Triton was once part of a binary system, something like what Pluto and charon have.
DP-B (Dwarf Planet - Binary) is the name I gave triton's friend.

Summary
As soon as he feels the hand put the slightest bit of pressure on his right eye, still covered with something, Triton jerks up-
And immediately regrets it when all the blood rushes up and leaves him so dizzy he doesn’t even fight when two hands pull him back down again.
Someone above him huffs a laugh.
Oh. He knows that particular laugh.
That’s Neptune. Which means that the warm body his head is resting on is Neptune’s lap.
Which.
This is a little too close for Triton’s taste.
Listen. He’s known the blue planet for eons. In all that time, the closest he’s ever been to him was when he first crash landed in his orbit. When he’d been so injured that Neptune’s weird ancient magic was the only thing that could hope to heal his cracks upon that rough entrance.
And that was ages ago. Case in point, the very first thing the moon does with this newfound knowledge is roll away.
Stop, drop, and roll, he thinks a little feverishly.
The injuries are probably getting to him.
Or: post asteroid dodgeball, Triton is healing and Neptune is breaking

You were hurt! All the others were- sobbing, crying your name and I couldn’t do anything except try and heal you with a power I haven’t used in years. I couldn’t even remember how at first!” Neptune cries.
Triton stares in disbelief. When was the last time he’d seen the other cry? He can’t even think of a time at all.
His hands are dropped as Neptune wipes the tears away.
Triton sucks in a breath and crouches onto his knees.
Softly, he says, “It’s not your fault, Neptune. It’s not like you threw asteroids at me.”
“But I couldn’t remember! That’s always my problem! I can’t remember anything that happened twenty minutes ago. Stars, Triton. I’m so sorry.”
He can’t even see his face anymore. The planet has it covered with his hands.

“Yeah,” he said, tipping his sunglasses down to peer at it. “You decorated it… nice.”

Triton… abruptly realized what he’d signed himself up for.
Perfect.
He strangled back a groan. This was not the chance to relax that he’d assumed it would be.

“D’you think exoplanets are real?” Galatea blurted out suddenly, setting down the small asteroid—Hrachov the Rocky—to address roughly the entire small group of moons at a whole. Which was sort of annoying because Proteus’ own asteroid—Mr. Janceen the Third—was supposed to be fighting him after Hrachov cheated on him with Amarina the Medium Sized. He was pretty sure Galatea was playing Hrachov to be as annoying as possible.
Proteus blinked, nearly losing his grip on Mr. Janceen, only barely catching it before it crashed into Hrachov. “Huh?”
Or: Neptunian moons have a far more significant conversation about exoplanets than they'll ever expect.

Summary
Ideally, none of this would be happening. Triton wouldn't be running as fast as he could to the distant, relative safety of the outer solar system.
He wouldn't be ignoring the uncomfortable fact that there was far too much screaming from Neptune’s direction to mean anything good and that he had no way to check if any of the other fifteen moons had, or would, make it out of the Kuiper Belt.
Most importantly, he wouldn't have shadowy figures chasing him, their intent anything but friendly.

Triton cringed thinking back to the moments after the battle- oh he had acted like a child. And he must have scared the rest of the moons too.
When had he ever acted like that with Neptune?
...
Well okay that was his own fault too but-
A hand touching his forehead made him snap out of it.
When Triton looked up, he met Neptune's tired but worried gaze- wasn't that a sight? Neptune? Showing worry? In front of his moons? He never showed any emotion other than happy or silly. But he looked so serious these days. So tired all the time. Always looking out for something.
They were all on edge. But it was still shocking how much one event could change a person.

After the battle against Planet X, Triton can't help but think back about his planet.
Specifically... the fact that he's always been comfortable around him, despite trying to think otherwise.

There was a snort, followed by quiet laugh. A real laugh that made the tension in Triton's body melt away, completely relaxing as his mind grew heavier, his breaths slowing to match the gentle rise and fall of the moons around him.
The hand on his back returned, more confident than before, and resumed his gentle, absentminded petting.
And if Triton felt the single tear that dripped into his hair as another kiss was pressed onto his temple, followed by the familiar weight of his glasses being gently pushed onto the top of his head-
He let it happen once again, too comfortable to say anything about it.
