Summary
But sixteen, sleeping angels were attached to him and his all-consuming gravity right now, leaving him unable to escape into the kuiper belt. And Neptune would never let his moons see that.
...He wasn't even alone, so why was he so upset about being alone?
Neptune pressed the back of his hand to his eyes, trying to stifle the quiet sob that followed next- but it came anyway. A shaky, breathy gasp followed, causing him the hand in his hair to move back to his mouth again. He tried to breathe through it, tried to stop, stop before his moons actually wake- but his stupid brain refused to listen, as always.
Quiet tears stained his sleeves, but at least he made no sound. At least, Neptune thought, he did that right.
Until... a tiny, impossibly small, delicate body pressed itself against the back of his neck.
And Neptune froze.
Or
After the Sun ordered everyone to remain in their true orbits and stay there, Neptune isn't doing so well.

Summary
Earth wasn't so sure if this idea he proposed was a good one anymore.
In hindsight, it had seemed like the perfect plan- Sun was angry and wanted everyone to remain in their orbits, but everyone else got too lonely, or bored, or was too far and started losing it. So Earth had suggested using one of the many brilliant inventions his beloved Earthlings had created to fight the boredom until Sun came back to his senses.
"Yes, we are a team indeed! So how about we stop shouting, Sun, and let Earth explain his funny rectangle device?"
"No, Saturn-" Earth groaned, rubbing two fingers between his eyes to fight the growing headache. "Not us, the app we're using is called Microsoft Teams. Its an app that lets you talk to people who are far away."
Or
With everyone forcefully locked in their orbits, Earth proposes to use one of his Earthling devices to be able to keep communicating!
It goes as well as one might excpect!

Summary
Waking up on the surface of Earth was bad enough.
Waking up as a squishy Earthling was worse.
And waking up as an Earthling that both does not exist and also posses a threat to the dominant Life on the planet was outright disastrous. The planets and a selection of moons have all found themselves in the bodies of dragons, stuck on the surface of a planet they have little knowledge of how to survive on. With the vague goal of reaching the North Pole with everyone alive and intact, the group will have to contend with some of the hardest challenges the surface can throw at them. All while avoiding the notice of the humans, who will surely hunt them down or capture them as threats or curiosities.
(Unrelated to my other fics. Set after the exile of Ganymede and Europa.)
Updates will be random, sorry.-

Summary
Once again, the star, planets, dwarf planets, and moons are summoned under an invitation to watch the next Earthling creation. This time, however, they are joined by an actual Earthling. And they are not so much 'watching' as they are 'listening'.
While the reluctant Astrodude is just trying to get through this new barrier standing between him and the end of his mission to go home to his wife and son, the rest of the Solar System is dealing with their own uncomfortable relations to the songs they are being presented with.
Set after the third in this series, 'Reacting to 'Deadliest Pattern in Nature'.

Summary
Their solar system was hauntingly quiet.
From the moment the Sun had stopped his hysterical screams and cries that haunted Jupiter even in his dream, everything had just.... gone silent. Awfully so.
It felt wrong to break the fragile silence.
Each of the rocky planets had been returned to their orbits personally by Jupiter himself when they cried themselves out- both to make sure they didn't try and get close to what remained of Proto and Theia as well as to just... see.
See what was left.
Because Jupiter hadn't been able to make himself look properly earlier.
Or
There are many different emotions about Proto and Theia's deaths... and the two new lives they haven't met.

NEPTUNE: Most daddy issues?
There's a beat of silence as the camera zooms into Neptune and the figures in front of him, who look slightly surprised by the question.
LUNA: I’m almost 99% sure the majority of the celestial beings in this solar system have some type of issues with their parents.
TITAN: No no! Some of us are orphans.
MIMAS: You can’t have daddy issues if you don’t have a dad.
LUNA: That is not making this conversation better.
URANUS (OFF-CAMERA): Oh this is so messed up on so many levels…
Or, Neptune whips out a camera, forces Uranus to come with them, and records a series of superlatives throughout the solar system. As you can predict, this does not end chaos free.

There are pearls forming in Neptune's hair every now and then. The Ice Giant is always a bit embarrassed by the glowy small orbs that seem too noticeable in his blue locks. And yet...
Throwing them away felt wrong.
Like a part of himself is getting discarded. So, Neptune choose a different way for them to still hold use- sew them on his moons, his treasures- clothes.
OR:
Neptune left a mark on his children that will always lets him remember.

Summary
He glanced over at his moons, who were now playing with the moons of Uranus- Triton, Nereid, Proteus, Larissa, Despina, Galatea, Naiad, Thalassa, Halimede, Sao, Laomedeia, Neso, Psamathe, Hippocamp, S/2002 N-5 and S/2021 N-1. All were accounted for.
"Neptune?" Uranus sounded even more worried too. Neptune looked at his feet, pulling his arms away from the other ice giant while his body tensed- why did Uranus need to sound so nice? It made him emotional and he didn't like that. Neptune was supposed to be smiley and giggly, not whatever was happening right now. So he got a little upset and imagined some things, was that so bad? The most useless planet who kept losing either his moons or his mind, why would anyone ever want to be near-
"Cousin?"
"..."
"...Oh, Neptune." Uranus' expression softened immensely when the other planet's eyes filled up with tears.
Or
If there is one thing Neptune doesn't forget, its his moons.
If there is one thing he does forget... is that his precious babies nor the other planets do not forget their love for him- no matter how forgetful he may be.

Summary
Meanwhile, Uranus is having the worst incoming realization of his life, as he begins to put two and two together.
The moons having a revolution… all of the giants having favorites… tone-deaf insults from different planets… insane carelessness at how they treat their moons…
Oh stars.
“We are fucking idiots,” Uranus says with a sharp intake of breath, a crazed smile forming on his face. “Oh my universe, we all are perpetuating the same mistakes as our crazy fucking star did.”
-
Triton successfully finds the Giants, and as they learn about the Moon Revolution, they cannot help but be harshly reminded about the Sun's own treatment towards them. It was all a cycle, and they let themselves repeat it.

The baby of the Asteroid Belt (does not wish to be alone no longer) by ItzZaira

Summary
Ceres was lonely.
From the moment he'd first opened his eyes, he always had been. The lonely dwarf planet of the Asteroid Belt who lost his mind over time, driven mostly by instinct, one with the surrounding darkness to survive.
That's who he was. That's who he always had been. That's who he would always be.
Entropy left no room for anything else. The toddler had accepted this long ago.
...So why did this time hurt?
The baby shivered, rubbing his injured hands up and down his arms to try and bring back some heat- but to no avail. He didn't get it. Asteroid Belt, Kuiper Belt, what did it matter? They were both dark belts! It should be the exact same! This place was basically his orbit, but further! He'd been here so many times! With Pluplu, and Cherry, and Ears and MakMak and Ham and Three.
So why was it so scary? Was it because he was alone? He was always alone!
That's who Ceres was.
That's who he always would be.
Or
The aftermath of Ceres running away from everyone else.

Summary
“Oh, Triton, don’t worry so much! I’m being totally safe, I would never hurt my moons,” Neptune chirped, reaching out to pat his hand on top of Triton’s head. Triton responded with an unamused look, sunglasses sliding further down his face before he fixed them with a scowl.
“It’s not that I’m worried about, Neptune. Something feels off.”
Neptune just hummed in response, using his gravity to pick up Larissa and slingshot her just far enough away before pulling her back in; she cheered the entire time, excited giggles escaping. Internally, he agreed with Triton. Something felt off, just enough for Neptune to notice. But - that wasn’t something his moons needed to worry about.
Or; Something lurks in the Solar System. Something with plans... and the ability to achieve them.

Summary
"Look, I know this situation will take some getting used to." She softly spoke, turning around so she could face all the old Uranian moons at once. Miranda was trying to soothe Cupid and Belinda, who seemed close to tears. Even Perdita was clumsily patting their backs, though her eyes remained on Titania when she spoke. What? "But we're safe finally! We don't need to hide, we are planets!"
"You are planets." Puck's voice was harsh in a way Titania hadn't heard before, catching her off guard. His expression softened when she looked at him, however, causing his posture to relax. "We don't meet the criteria."
"What- sure you do!" She blinked away her surprise. Where was this coming from? Had someone picked on them? Oh, it was Titan, she knew it was. The second-biggest moo- planet was way too loyal sometimes. He really should stop sticking his nose in other people's business. "You orbit the Sun! That makes you a planet by default!"
Or
In her spiral to protect the Uranian moons, Titania overlooks the many, many reasons as to why it would be hard for them to no longer be moons.

Summary
Triton was right in saying that Neptune always remembers his moons well.
He works to remember all he can about them, how can he not? And even the things he doesn't try to remember, he is cursed to.
Except for one thing...
Because Neptune's mind will not allow itself to know about Triton's eventual fate. Not for long anyways.

Summary
Neptune was a lot of things.
Silly. Flexible. Really good at math. Introspective. Ice giant. Planet. Blue. Not bound by the confines of reality.
But one of the things Neptune also was, one of the things people often didn't connect back to Neptune was that he was a protector.
Sure, maybe in regards to his orbit and the Kuiper Belt but considering his mental state it was easy to write him off on that.
But Neptune was good at protecting the others from other things, or at least... tries to.
Sometimes at the expense of himself.
OR: 3 times Neptune smiled and tried to protect someone at his own expense, 1 time he questioned if it was enough, and the 1 time he finally cracked.
