Summary
Peace, or at least something resembling it, has fallen over Kain's empire after the subjugation of the human race. The age of the vampires has reached its peak. Nosgoth belongs to the night.
Eternal life lasts a long time, and as the centuries drag on, the kingdom's emperor more often than not disappears, leaving his six sons to their own devices. The clans coexist, pretty much, but only because there is always the looming threat of the master returning. And none of them would want to incur their lord's wrath should he find his kingdom in shambles upon his return.
But when the years of Kain's absence hits double digits, unrest begins to brew within the clans.
Some lieutenants would love nothing more than to pull back into their own territories where they can keep to themselves and their own without conflict.
Other lieutenants, depraved of a true goal and bored witless, hunger for battle.
And without Kain to reign in their chains, it's only a matter of time before one of them breaks and plunges the empire in total war.
That's at least how Melchiah sees it. And although he hates it, he has no choice but to pick a side.

Minęło wiele stuleci, odkąd Kain wraz ze swoimi wampirzymi generałami zawładnął krainą Nosgoth i podbił ród ludzki. Niebo zasnuły bure chmury, by wampiry mogły chodzić swobodnie także za dnia. Natomiast ludziom tę swobodę odebrano i żyją w ciągłym strachu… jest ich coraz mniej. Nic jednak nie zmieni faktu, że wampiry potrzebują ludzkiej krwi. W pewnym momencie generałowie wprowadzają funkcję dawczyń krwi – są to kobiety, które raz w tygodniu dobrowolnie pozwalają wampirowi wypić swoją krew w zamian za pewne korzyści. Główną bohaterką tej historii jest Evrena, która zgłasza się jako dawczyni dla generała Raziela.
