Summary
Nearly a year after the fall of the Sector Seven plate and Aerith's successful capture, Rufus comes to Tseng with a new assignment: He wants to move the Ancient out of specimen containment and into Tseng's apartment. A reward for her obedience and a test to determine whether or not she deserves to be more than a prisoner of Shinra. It's simple enough, only a trial, and how could Tseng ever refuse a mission handed to him by the company?
When Aerith moves in, the desire for freedom lingering beneath her supposed docility rears its ugly head. The only complications Tseng hadn't prepared for were his own feelings, the conflict between them and his duty.
Whether he likes it or not, Aerith is going to make him choose.

At the end of Advent Children Cloud is offered a choice that he won't remember but that will change the destiny of two timelines. One will go forward without him, free of Sephiroth and JENOVA's corruption. And the other? Well. He's going to do his best to save everyone in this timeline, too, and he's going to do it while parenting three itty bitty little Sephiroth Remnants.
Otherwise known as the one where Cloud, disoriented from being resurrected in the past, kills a Shinra scientist by accident and sets off a chain reaction of events that may well bring Shinra to it's knees.
An ensemble cast, multiple POV, multiple story-line fic featuring:
⭐Found-family shenanigans as Cloud takes the itty bitty baby (~8 year old) remnants on the run from Shinra while being completely oblivious to the chaos he has wrought.
⭐Genesis and Sephiroth and Hojo and the super fun and not at all traumatic search for a cure for degradation.
⭐Angeal's amazing disappearing sword trick.
⭐The Turks being Turks, i.e: A Threat to Absolutely Everyone.Apologies, this is still on hiatus. I promise I haven't abandoned it though!

Full summary in chapter one: Rufus feared getting older. He analyzed his every feature and trait, every wrinkle, every emotion he felt, comparing it to his late father. the crease by his eyebrow for two reasons; he furrows his brows in anger like his father did, and yet sinks them in fear from his father’s same anger. He thought being the president after the death of his father would give him closure, but the longer he had been cooped up in his new office, doing paperwork, answering questions, declining fanmail from children who admired him because of what they saw in those bullshit magazines, he realized he still felt just as trapped, if not more. He couldn’t stand to see his face morph into that of the man who ruined him- to be stuck in life and death, forever known as the charming young man of 25 who every year grew to be more and more like his awful, corrupted father. With what little “sense” he had left, or at least that’s what he believed it to be, he hatched a plan; he would do what his father never would.However, if this plan failed and even after all he had done to fix things like he wanted, he still could not live with who he would become? Easy, he would die instead. Who was he to go out without a bang anyway?
