"You don't need any backup there do you O' Conner?" Another cop had asked with a chuckle.
"Shut it Jameson, you probably couldn't figure out how to release the parking brake to be available for backup."

Or, the one where Brian is still a lone wolf, Dom still wants to keep him, and everything’s exactly like you’d expect.
A different take on The Fast and the Furious, where-- political correctness disallows the word werewolf-- lycanthropic individuals are known, discriminated against and don’t always end up bad. Right?
Let’s be honest, this is just another tFatF AU. I wrote this for my own amusement, but maybe somebody else will enjoy it, too.

Detective Brian O’Conner was an oddity among UC operatives.
And for a simple, but also complex reason:
The best UCs were rootless.
They had no ties, no responsibilities or connections outside of their work to bog them down or trouble their minds during an operation.
The best UCs could let everything else go and sink into their roles for however long was required to take down their targets.
Of course, this also had a side-effect of risking the best UCs to going “native” or sinking so far into their roles that they turn from excellent officers of the law into the most frustrating criminals to catch as they end up creating the bonds that they lack outside of the job with the same targets they’re supposed to be spying on and gathering evidence to lock away.
Brian O’Conner was an oddity in that not only was he one of the best UCs in the Los Angeles Police Department’s stable of officers, but he also had not only ties to life outside his work but potentially the strongest ones around:
Brian O’Conner was soulmarked.

**This work is incomplete and currently on hold! sorry to those who have supported this work, and I hope to complete it when I have some free time.**
Barstow has one of the highest violent crime rates in the entire nation - violent offenses include rape, murder, armed robbery, aggravated assault and assault with a deadly weapon, all bloody sports and they are a hard way to live.
Brian grows up here – all the way from nappies to high school, like a weed through cement.
Things go wrong in his life – so he doesn’t become a cop, maybe, but he tries to go straight because he wants to be good. He doesn’t want to be a bad person, even if that kind of feels unavoidable.
All roads in all worlds lead to this – he ends up in Dom’s garage. In all lives, in all versions of every story and every timeline, this is inevitable.
