Summary
When Vaati first approaches him with the new plan, Shadow hates it. It’s stupid, he tells him, to sacrifice someone in this way as a failsafe when the side of Darkness is inevitable going to win. But Vaati says he’s already proposed the plan to Ganon and the king of Darkness himself has agreed that it can only facilitate the crushing of light. So there’s no room for arguing.
Basically, I wanted an excuse to have the colours and Shadow go to the human world and adapt. So I made a plot to get it to happen :) Since they need the four swords to get rid of Ganon (because they vanquish darkness) I thought what if they just got rid of the swords. What would they do. So the fic is just Shadow steals the swords, goes to the human world, befriends some cool as fuck lesbians, discovers Rhianna and is a gay idiot with Vio because the colours go throught the portal as well to get the swords back. Idiotic shenanigans ensue.
Please note I've never played the games, but I've been reading the manga since I was ten so I felt relatively qualified to write this. Enjoy :3

Shadow has to find out how much his heart can take actually destroying the very people he is bound to. Not to mention- Can someone like him ever fill the role of a hero? Especially after destroying the one hero who might have been a friend? (aka a manga canon divergence au exploring if Shadow was able to kill Vio for trying to destroy the mirror, before the 3 heroes arrived to rescue him.)

Vio sat down at his desk, took a deep breath, and picked up his comb, running it through his hair over and over and over. No tangles, no knots, not so much as one hair out of place. He’d been planning this far too carefully to let anything trip him up here.
Finally, his hair - grown out just past his shoulders for this specific occasion - shone in the candlelight like spun gold. He ran the comb through it six or seven more times, just to be absolutely sure, then picked up the scissors.
