Some scenes will be altered as I see fit, but in general it should follow the broad strokes of the game pretty closely, and it is my hope that I do this game, its plot, and especially its characters justice. Zack Fair is in love with the world. He loves people, he loves the university he attends, he loves the classes he takes, he loves his friends, he loves his family, he loves the world. Yet, no matter how much love he has in his big heart, some days he can’t maintain his optimism, and gets angry, irritated, lashes out at small things. He hates it. He gets sad, unmotivated, blank. Then he meets Cloud, and it seems that hollow feeling in his chest has been filled for good.
Cloud Strife hates the world, and most things in it. He tries so hard to appreciate good things that come his way, but more often than not, he can never see the bright side. His mother was caring enough, but then his father died, and she became cold. So did he. Convinced himself he was better than everyone. For a long time, the arrogance worked. But then his childhood came running back to him with bright red eyes and long dark hair. She brings him into contact with someone who's all broad muscle and strange face scars and he was stubbornly rid of the hollowness he felt for years. -

What had started out as a seemingly routine reactor maintenance check in Nibelheim turns tragic and leaves the only home Second Class SOLDIER Cloud Strife's ever known in shambles. With his best friend dead and himself gravely wounded he falls into Hojo's manic clutches.
After a month and a half of torture Cloud breaks free and tears a bloody path through everyone that stands in his way. Only just managing to happen upon a still badly wounded Tifa Lockhart tucked away in a forgotten corner.
It's a fight for both their lives after the escape. On the run from Shinra and with Tifa in desperate need of *actual* medical care it's going to take all of Cloud's limited street knowledge, military skills, and maybe a few new friends for them to survive Beneath the Plate.
