Zoey watches the flame on her desk every day, repeating words her sister told her long ago. "You are more than your parents' child. You are better than them, better than me even. You are full of life, but I know this home feels like a war, and you are a stranger to this suffering; so I will make it my life's goal to save you from this pointless fight."
Zoey is missing her older sister now more than ever as it gets closer to 10 years without contact. When her parents forced her to cut Misa off she thought she'd find her again when she moved out, but that never worked. So when Rumi and Mira find out about her estranged sister they make it their main priority to find her and get the two back in contact.
This is a story of Zoey, past and present, learning to accept who she is and how to do what she wants instead complying with the expectations of others. And a story of long lost family reuniting.

Zoey noticed the giant picture of a perfectly delicious oreo McFlurry on the smartboard and immediately started salivating. “Guys, guys, we have to go get some maccie after class.” The girl basically started beaming at the thought alone. “I’m so serious right now, I need a McFlurry so bad!” “Zoey, lunch break is only thirty minutes, we’ll never make it back in time before biology.” Rumi tried to reason. “Wait, wait, we’ll go to the one in westerhaven instead of herestraat. It’s a little further away, but the food is ready in like five minutes, because no one goes to that one.” Mira argued. They could all go for some McDonalds and Rumi really needed to recover from the emotional damage that was math class, so naturally she folded under zero pressure.
