“Look,” Dean starts but stops when it only seems to make things worse. Words have never really been his strong suit. But he knows actions. He knows how to do the little things. He knows how to protect, how to buy dinner after a crap day, how to fix Cas’ damn tie or clap Sam’s shoulder in passing...He knows how to half ass apologies and how to pretend things are fine and move on...He doesn’t know how to do the big things. He doesn’t know how to fix this, but he knows it takes more than a band-aid or two to fix something that has shattered.
