It was practically a routine, at this point.
Branzy would making himself busy around the base, try to stay inconspicuous, try not to let his heart race at every unfamiliar sound. One thing he’d learnt, if nothing else, was that Clown didn’t make sound, not as standard.
He’d go like this for a day, maybe two, waiting. Then his business partner would stumble back inside, a mess of potion effects and wounds, and collapse on the floor. Which left Branzy to get him cleaned up.

Catching the light, a brightly coloured feather drifted down, settling in Wifies’ fringe. It was a brilliant blue, small and fluffy. Wifies blew it away without much thought, turning towards Parrot. who he noticed was watching the feather fly around. But his eyes couldn’t stay focused on the bird, as they darted behind him towards bright captivating wings, his breath got caught in his throat.

Wifies preens Parrots wings but Parrot can’t grasp the idea of being cared for, after so long running and hiding in fear of death. The idea is foreign to him and he pushes Wifies away, and the idea that someone doesn’t have malicious intent even if it’s his best friend.

ParrotX2 doesn't often preen his wings, and he doesn't enjoy them being touched, either. Recently, it's become an issue, as Parrot and Wifies both constantly must face the pressure of escaping several scenarios where Parrot's wing conditions will be the cause for his death. It also would look much prettier if they looked proper, although, of course, Wifies would say they look gorgeous nonetheless.
While expecting more resistance when he insists on preening Parrot's wings, the avian - while reluctant - does agree. Despite his research on birds, the dog hybrid gets a little too curious about just how much ParrotX2 is like a.. well, Parrot, and finds himself wondering another question, which he sets a goal of answering for himself.
