It’s a painful thought, that his own attempt at support just hindered Joel’s healing, but it’s a giddy one, too, the idea of his brother back with him.

Prompt: dying for hucklerobby slice of life/interacting with each other's families! i think canon plays loose with both of their current dynamics with their families and i think the concept of the two of them becoming the family for the other that they don't have anymore for whatever reason (death for robby and maybe just estrangement for dennis) could be really interesting and could be either very angsty or very light hearted.

As he studies, taking in the small twitches of his muscles, the fidget in his chair, the dilation of his eyes in his red face, Robby squirms again, though he doesn’t speak, just waiting still. He’s so different here than in the Pitt, and yet, he’s exactly the same.
“You want to know what I think?” Dennis asks. Robby doesn’t even hesitate; he just nods. “I think I could bend you over this table right now, and it wouldn’t do half as much for you as me describing to you exactly what I’d do when I bent you over this table.”
The color on Robby’s face is getting dark, hectic. His chest heaves with deeper, faster breaths, his eyes surprised and blown dark and fixed right on Dennis.
“Isn’t that right?” Dennis asks. “Michael?”
