So when he wants to see Zanka laughing his head off without a care in the world, he decides the new toxin he's come across is perfect for their next fight.

The Thiren steeled himself. He hesitated for a few heartbeat, tasting the words on his tongue before courage finally found him. He knew there was a risk Hugo would recoil instantly, shrink from his presence alone. Still, he was willing to take this risk; the years of longing worsened the depth of his feeling, and their reunion only broke the shackled of restraints he had placed upon himself.
“You should already know the answer to this, Hugo.”

For those unfamiliar with the AU:
Instead of leaving as he does in the cannon, Spamton goes missing at the end of the big shot era. Tenna stuffs him into his own torso cavity to keep him from leaving. Tenna then proceeds to force Spamton to stay alive while his body is broken and mangled inside of him.I can’t stand this AU man.

Summary
Sonic has reached the ripe age of 50 and is now longing for another adventure. One day, he wakes up back in Camelot, but it’s not the same one he left, as no one seems to remember those events other than Sonic; and on top of it all, they all think that he is the lost king Arthur who has simply lost his memories.
Arthur’s most loyal knight Lancelot is the same age as Sonic and a single parent, who is struggling with his sudden loneliness as his son Galahad has recently moved away. Sonic is enthralled by him, since he’s something that Shadow isn’t; mortal. Given their position as king and his bodyguard, the two quickly become close, closer than their titles would suggest in fact.
Now Sonic is struggling with his new duties and expectations – ones that he didn’t really even ask for in the first place. In the midst of it all, he’s trying to keep his newly blossomed relationship a secret, while also adapting to yet another new, unexpected title; stepfather.
