She tucked her portfolio under her arm and pulled open the front door of the design office, stepping smartly over the threshold and stopping short in the doorway, almost letting the door shut on her as she locked eyes with the man sitting behind the reception desk.
Betty Cooper, artist extraordinaire, painter of human canvases, knew beauty when she saw it. And beautiful didn’t even begin to cover it.
This man was breathtaking.

Betty was shocked to finally hear his voice. The sound was warm like nothing she’d ever heard before. She took a breath, forcing herself to ignore the shiver that ran up her spine. She nodded her head. “I'm aware.”
He tilted his head to one side. “Oh?”
She shrugged a shoulder. “It’s a small town.”
He hummed in acknowledgement, nodding his head. "You wouldn't happen to know who did it, would you?”

And with a fall of the first leaf, summer was over once again. The air would get colder, the days would get shorter and the real life would come creeping back up to replace a blissful summer daydream. The school would start once again; and oh, how that would change everything. As if the summer had never happened, as if they were strangers again. As if the two of them didn’t spend the hottest days of year sharing shade by Sweetwater river, stealing kisses from each other and exploring the endless possibilities of the mysterious world.
With that blow of a wind and the fall of that first leaf, all of it would disappear.

However, not everything is at seems and he makes the choice to return to his home town in hopes of finding that missing piece.
Betty Cooper moved to Riverdale in hopes of never being found. She lived a life that anyone would pray they could escape from, one day, she did.
