Summary
The story takes place in a fictional Japan in the Edo period. Tamashini and her sister were born into a middle-class family of merchants. Their father quickly realized that the older of the two daughters was not like other girls and had her introduced to martial arts by an old samurai who lived in their village. Tamashini was talented, but due had to hide her identity under a fox mask, earning her the nickname Kitsune.
One day the village was attacked by a clan and Tamashini and her sister were the only ones who survived. But their escape did not last long, the soldiers caught her after a fight and she was brought before the Daimyo. He recognized her potential and gave her a choice: either she joined his clan and became his assassin, or she and her beloved sister would die.
Tamashini could no longer count how many people she had killed on his behalf, and she didn't care if nothing happened to her sister. This time, too, she would please her master.
