Summary
The Imperium of Man is a mighty edifice, and it tells its people that it is the best way, the only way, for humanity to achieve its true potential.
To be a huddled, frightened mass, turning away from the beauty of the xenos, brutalising itself to meet impossible standards, clinging desperately to its sacred 'humanity'.
But some reject that. On a minor hive world, close, too close, to the Screaming Vortex, four heretics meet, and seek to become better than what the Imperium offers them. A heretek artist of flesh and cybernetics. A Marine Librarian turned Sorcerer by broken promises and hopeful dreams. An Arbitrator who finds the system itself unjust. And a silver-tongued noble born to luxury and duty.
They have abandoned stability, they will find Chaos.

Set in an AU where SilkWings joined the LeafWings in the Tree Wars but it isn't *that* important to plot.
