Summary
The twisted shapes remained, but the landscape was slowly being reclaimed by nature. Grass and bushes grew over strange metal, and vines covered the otherworldly formations spawned by the death march of a crazed machine. There was even a rabbit in the distance, looking around, bravely seeking food in the ruins. Aloy's hand momentarily went to her focus, but she stopped herself. Her days of hunting for food and animal parts were over. She didn’t even have her bow with her now.
The first time she had gone without it she had felt naked, vulnerable. But by now she was used to having just her spear at her side. The machines out there might still be as deadly, but none of Gaia’s creations were hostile. And if Aloy for some reason needed to fight, she was far more capable now than back then.

Summary
You didn’t become an admiral without learning to deal with the unforeseen. No matter what the guidelines said, that was something Gerrit took to heart. Plans were invaluable, but sometimes you just had to adapt to the things that life threw at you.
In the past six months more strange events had happened to him and the people he was supposed to be leading than the rest of life combined. And yes, they were traveling to unseen lands on the other side of the great ocean, but they had left with orders directly from the emperor himself and carried one of the imperial family with them. It was the biggest expedition of his lifetime and was a huge undertaking even for the empire. By the third storm when the fleet split apart and he was forced to salvage multiple ships to keep floating, the imperial orders had left Gerrit’s priority list. They had crossed the last few hundred miles by the skin of their teeth.
Somehow they made it to land.
And found the mysteries and dangers that lay there.

This fic is set between chapter 38 and 39 of Meridian Sunsets and would probably not work well if you haven't read it.

Summary
At the moment he was holding onto the device and looking it over. It was triangular, slightly rounded on one side with a shining blue light coming from a gap in the middle. The light was similar to the light that came from machines, stable and consistent unlike the torchlight of the palace. The focus was a tiny thing and looked as brittle as glassware.
Really it wasn’t fear that had made Avad hesitate and study it, he trusted Aloy, he doubted she would give something dangerous. It was more nervousness, he had heard that the focus was apparently the source of her so-called “second sight”. If it only gave that it was a greater gift than any of the jewels the nobles Marad wanted him to marry had ever given him. And while Aloy didn't need to give him gifts, Avad wasn't going to deny them either. He cleared his head, and took a deep breath. After a moment's hesitation he pressed the focus on his temple next to his ear, as he had seen Aloy wear it. Then he gently tapped the focus.

Summary
At the dawn of the battle of Coldwind Rigde Isabella had made a decision. She would no longer serve the woman who saved her. Zero was scheming, manipulative, uncaring and quite possibly insane. And after seeing the destruction wrought by Rolands army, she knew Zero no longer had the best way to defeat the demons.
8/6/21 Update: The first arc is now complete and can be read standalone. It has however been a few months since I last read release that witch so I don't think I will finish this fic. If anyone wants to continue it, feel free to do so.

Summary
“I didn’t think the Oseram were much for decorations,” Javad said curiously.
“They’re not,” was the forlorn sigh he received in response. “It’s one of the many reasons I left The Claim.”
“Your fondness for garnishes?” he asked, trying to keep the smile from his voice.
Milduf was sweet, but no fool. He caught Javad’s meaning and grinned, tucking in. “Something like that.”

"You... You're..." She timidly played with her hair, eyes on the rug. "You're a fairy."
"No." Meg leaned on her table, barely phased. "I'm a fury."
Melionë didn't look up, but her voice took on a determined edge. "I want to be like you when I'm older."
