Summary
Elain was hot. Drops of sweat slid down her back, making her skin sticky, her breathing heavy and her nerves taut and ready to explode. That golden thread inside her chest was tense whenever he was near, but in the past days, given their forced proximity, the tugging against her ribs had become unbearable.
At least, that's said, for her. He didn't seem affected by it, not even a little bothered by the fire that ate at her skin every minute of every day.
She hated him for it.***
"Don't think that I can't handle myself or my bond. After so many years, this isn't anything more than an itch on my skin".
His words hurt a little, but she deserved it, so she took the pain and tried to mask her expression. "Well, so what would it make us?"
"Nothing more than what we are now. Just mates who can barely stand each others" he smirked. "With some… benefits".
"Mates", she echoed.
He nodded.
"With… benefits?"
"If you need to put a tag on it". -

Summary
From the moment his feet touched the ground of Dean's Forest, something changed.
The barriers of his mind gave way under the weight of an unknown and disruptive force. He couldn't have resisted it even if he had wanted to.
He let the sensation overwhelm him as his skin ignited, his blood boiled and a rush of adrenaline pervaded his nerves. He could feel her.
Although his eyes saw nothing but bare trees and expanses of dry leaves on the cold ground, and his ears heard nothing but the sound of the wind blowing through the branches, he could feel her.
She was there. His mate. -

Summary
Just when Elain thought she had found balance since her life was turned upside down, someone begins to doubt the true nature of her powers.
Koschei threatens the fragile peace that has settled over Prythian with his search for the cauldron. However, its power is now inextricably linked to the one who has been gifted by it.***
"I'm not interested in a mate" he replied. "And don't start telling me what it feels like, and how it might be magic."
Rhys gave a resigned laugh, then ran a hand through his hair, tousling it. "If you could just wait."
"Spare me the lecture, Rhys."
Rhysand looked up. "I won't lecture you. As a brother, though, I ask you to make me a promise."
He remained silent, waiting for him to speak.
"Before you drag Elain into this, at least think about it".***

Summary
“It doesn’t have to be like this!” she shouted, valiant until the bitter end. “You’re already physically on our side, Malfoy. Just think about how much we could accomplish if you defected and fought with us.”
