Summary
“Hey, Chan-ah,” Wonwoo says. He pushes off with his skates, letting the momentum glide him forward until he’s gently headbutting Chan’s helmet with his own. Chan beams up at him, his cheeks flushed with exertion and a grin splitting his face behind the cage of his helmet. Wonwoo stutters out his next breath and brings up one hand, bumping his closed fist against the knitted logo on the center of Chan’s jersey, right over his heart. Calmly, he says, “Great game. You did well.”
(Or: 5 times defenseman Wonwoo has less than professional thoughts about his goalie Chan + 1 time those thoughts are very much shared and very much spoken out loud.)

It’s him, Boo Seungkwan, in the picture. Standing beside Lee Chan, who’s in his school uniform while Seungkwan is dressed casually, and behind them, a banner - 2017 Jigu High Graduation Ceremony. Chan’s arm is slung across Seungkwan’s shoulders, his grin wide and bright like the sun. Seungkwan isn’t smiling but he’s not pulling away either. There’s something… soft in his face.
Like he belongs there, beside Lee Chan.
And if the picture is from Lee Chan’s graduation, then Hansol should also be there since they are from the same high school. Seungkwan would have taken a picture with Hansol, his boyfriend, and not Lee Chan. But Hansol isn’t in this picture. It’s just him and Lee Chan.

Chan had always wondered why people bothered with love if it never lasts.
Back then, lying on the couch with Hansol's face next to his after they've officially moved in together, he thought maybe he could see why.
"Can you believe it?" Hansol asks and Chan can feel himself smile. As if it's default for him to do so when it comes to him. Hansol wraps his arms tighter around Chan's back and he laughs as Hansol kisses his nose.
But right now, bracing himself for the inevitable, wiping the stupid tears off of his face at two-thirty A.M. in front of a bus stop, Chan really wonders why people bother at all with this.

Summary
Right here, it feels as if the world Chan misses is real again. The wind hits his face, he’s cold and there’s not much he can do about it. Seungkwan feels real — with real human skin, dark circles under his eyes and human imperfections lit up by city lights, and not cold LED lights.
Or: Chan takes a moment to appreciate Seungkwan in a world where he doesn't have time for that.

This should be the perfect moment to go back on his lie and accept the fact that, as long as he doesn’t get a real boyfriend, Chan’s parents won’t believe him when he says he’s bisexual. But his mom looks so understanding, so accepting; this is what he wants now, and not in the future.

“Best out of five wins,” Seungkwan stalked towards him slowly, a smirk appearing on his face. “To make this interesting, let’s say the loser has to do something.”
“No way,” Chan takes a step back, slightly intimidated. “I’m not going to make some dumb bet with you.”
Of course, Seungkwan didn't know when to back down. Instead, he knew exactly which buttons to press; “Assuming you’re going to lose? I’ll count on that, Channie.”
