Theo's face is almost unrecognisable. Blood covers the entire right side, and the left boasts a black eye and several bruises, red trickling from the side of his mouth. Despite it all, a slow, tired smile curls Theo's lips upwards, and the flames in Liam's throat take on a strange, aching glow.
"Why isn't he healing?" Liam finds himself asking, almost frantic. "What did they do to him?"
"More importantly, why?" asks Malia, and for some reason, it makes Liam want to scream. "Why would they torture him when he would have easily told them everything they need to know?"
"Unless he didn't," Scott says quietly, and the air turns heavy; stifling.

Summary
Bobby half-heartedly tried to decorate for Christmas but all he could think of was the lawsuit Buck served him a few weeks ago. He’d be angry and frustrated with the younger man any other time of the year but pulling a stunt like this so close to the holidays added an extra layer to his emotions. Bobby’s anger was amplified but so was this somber feeling he couldn't quite place.

He couldn’t help the smile that pulled at his lips, teeth shining through as Tommy chuckled. “There it is.”
His cheeks heated at the gotcha, letting his smile grow just a bit more before turning so the two were face to face.“Thank you for letting me come here. For not kicking me to the curb.”
“I don’t think it's a shock to anyone that I still care about you, Evan. You will always have a place here, whenever you need it.”
“Yeah?” He spoke in awe, eyes fluttering against the sting behind his eyes as he saw the sincerity in Tommy’s face.
“Yeah. There's nowhere else I would rather you be than here with me.”

“Tommy…” Eddie gasps. Even though it’s only one word, he can hear how wretched his voice sounds.
There’s a sharp inhale on the other end of the line. All the cheer is gone from Tommy’s voice when he asks, “What happened?”
Eddie takes a breath, forcing himself to choke down the lump in his throat and speak clearly. “You need to come to First Presbyterian. Buck’s been in an accident.”

No. No, Eddie’s not leaving, he’s going away. It’s not the same thing, it’s not, but Buck can’t swallow past the bitter sting in the back of his throat that warns it is, it is the same, it’s you.
Buck is not being abandoned. He is not being left behind.
It just feels that way.(or, the thought of dying alone has always terrified Buck, but dying in Eddie’s arms is worse.)
