Summary
They sit in the quiet half-dark, too lazy to turn on the light. A lone sunbeam illuminates Nicky's eye, his nose.
'I don't know about changing the world,' Joe says finally. 'That sounds like I want to do it all by myself. I just want to do my bit. So we can all be a bit happier tomorrow than we are today.'
'You and me, too?'
For a moment, Joe thinks this might turn into the talk he had been giving Nicky, about the importance of taking breaks. But Nicky is quiet after that, squinting into the sun, and suddenly, Joe isn't quite so sure what to reply.
'I hope so,' he says finally. 'I hope so.'
When the world grinds to a halt around them, Joe and Nicky are forced to navigate who they are (and who they are to each other) from the confines of a flat in Northern Italy.
A little love story about the things that are important in life.

"I'm glad you're having fun." Quentin pauses, curling up and trying to ignore the sudden butterflies in his stomach. "I, um. I miss you."
There's another loud crash in the background as he says it, definitely something breaking this time - Quentin is pretty sure he hears Margo laughing, and then something muffled before Eliot returns. "Wait, let me— hold on—" After a few more muffled seconds, the party noise cuts off so abruptly that Quentin thinks the call might have dropped. "Okay," Eliot sighs, sounding a little breathless. "I'm outside now. Jesus, this balcony is bigger than our living room. What did you say?"
Quentin takes a breath and— lets it out again, too nervous to repeat it. Eliot probably won't want to hear him get sentimental when he's having a good time, anyway. "Nothing. Um, tell Margo I said hi."
or: Quentin is pretty sure he and Eliot are on the same page about their whole not-really-dating thing, but it's probably a good idea to make sure, right?

Summary
Joe’s need to be physically affectionate with everyone he cared for was a source of endless confusion and frustration for Nicky. What was he supposed to think of the soft touches the man bestowed upon him or his sweet words when he did the same to everyone else.
Nicky was a complete enigma to Joe. He couldn’t have made his crush on the older man more clear from the first day they had met and somehow they still had not moved beyond this odd dance around each other, Joe still trying to sort out is the stoic Italian even returned his feelings.
Meanwhile Andy just needs them to screw already so she doesn’t lose that bet she made with Booker.
