“You’re ruining his life,” Father Cameron said simply, face both sombre and void of expression. “I know you don’t mean to, which is why I’m telling you this, but you’ve become so ingrained in his home, in his family, that he barely gets to exist on his own anymore. Everything revolves around you – and you’re much needier than most.”
Buck flicked his eyes around the room, as if seeking confirmation that this conversation was really happening, right in the corner of the coffee house.
“Take just your most recent stunt, for example,” the priest continued, gesturing at Buck’s arm in its sling. “You create issues like this and everyone in your life has no choice but to clean up your mess. Eddie would never tell you this himself, but it needs to be said because he’s suffering far too much because of you. You’ve taken over his life to the point where he barely has one anymore. At least, not one where he’s happy.”

‘’You hated Blaze,’’ Buck narrows his eyes.
Eddie huffs out annoyed. ‘’I didn’t hate Blaze,’’ he says unconvincingly.
Chim snorts. ‘’No, you were just jealous of him.’’
Eddie shifts on his seat while everyone shares pointed looks and laugh under their breaths.
‘’I wasn’t jealo… Buck isn’t Blaze. Buck is kind and steals my treats and … You know, wakes me up in the crack of dawn to go on a run with him. And he’s you know,’’ Eddie moves his hand in the air. ‘’Distinguished. Distinguished little gentlemen Buck.’’
