Summary
When Aloy sees the confident Marshal at the gates to the Forbidden West she is instantly captivated & confused by new feelings. When she sees him after the terrible events at Barren Light he is angry, vengeful and full of doubt. She already has a long list of people in love with her, but she only ever felt this way about the brooding Marshal with the strength and courage she only saw in one other man; Rost.
Kotallo notices the red-haired maiden when he arrives at Barren Light & wants to gain her attention, then looses his arm in battle. When he sees her again he struggles with his own worth and new feelings he never felt before. He wants to explore them, but is unsure if the huntress will find him worthy.A (mostly) canon retake on the events of Horizon Forbidden West where Aloy and Kotallo explore their feelings and evolve their relationship. Explores several points of view but focuses mostly on Aloy and Kotallo. Missions not explicitly spelled out are assumed to happen when Aloy is away from base. Some canon events and/or dialog are rearranged or summarized.

Nihlus Kryik is a Specter; an elite special task force for the Citadel Council. Shepard is a Lieutenant Commander in the Systems Alliance. He is turian. She is human. Not long ago their two species were at war. Now they work together (mostly) to live in the galaxy peacefully (mostly) and build a better future for everyone, (mostly). There are still some rough edges to smooth out. She's met turians before, worked with them, fought with them... shot at them, but this one is different. He actually seems to believe that humans and turians can be peaceful allies. There's an allure as if his bright green eyes are gravity wells and they pull her in, but she pushes the feelings way down deep. It couldn't possibly work... Could it?
This starts post Mass Effect 1 with a romance build up between Shepard and Nihlus. Some cannon. (wrote this years ago, so I may make minor changes as I post)Series
