“Hello to you too, dearest Louis,” Niall yelled from where he still sat on the couch next to Harry.
There was a clunk on the floor and what sounded like shoes hitting the wall as Niall announced, “We have a guest. You might want to save stabbing me until you don’t have a witness.”
“Well if they are obsessed with golf then…” Louis trailed off as he made his appearance in the living room.
Harry’s mouth dried up. This was not the alpha that Niall had described.
When Harry loses his passport after a weekend trip to see Niall, the inconvenience of being stranded in America becomes a little more bearable after meeting Louis. Or a lot more bearable.

“I…” Louis blinked and looked down at the boxes still scattered on the floor. By the time he had gathered them back up, Harry was also gone.

They don’t talk about it. The way Harry deflects any and all questions about his past and Louis pretends he isn’t confused or hurt by it. The way Harry keeps a distance between them and Louis acts like he can’t see it creating a wall between them. The way Harry doesn’t always answer honestly and Louis goes along with it as if he can’t tell. They don’t talk about it.
Harry knows Louis feels like he doesn’t know him well enough, and it pains him. It pains him every time Louis gets that look on his face that’s a mixture of disappointment, frustration, and confusion. And sometimes, self-blame. It pains him because Louis is wrong.
Because even though there is a lot Louis doesn’t know about him, there is so much that he does. He knows what Harry is like at his most vulnerable: curled up on this bed with him in the dark where it’s safest. He knows Harry in a way no one else does.

"Yeah! Plus, they are his favorite." Harry turned around, looking for the owner of the giggles he heard throughout the establishment. His heart started beating faster as he neared the ice rink. The giggles sounded louder with each step he took, and the smell of the sweetest omega started filling the air.
"Oh! Zayn! Please stop!" Louis laughed hard this time.
Harry did not expect to see his omega up in the air laughing this hard in the arms of another alpha while the alpha was spinning them around.
