The first move is always a feint. It's the most basic thing, to land a hit with the second move—or in his case, the second life. In which Nara Shikamaru is reborn in a completely wrong time and wrong body, where troubles manage to ensue and give him a monumental headache.

A worthy opponent indeed. And trouble, if the tingling at the back of Kakashi’s neck is any indication.
He’s not sure yet though, just what type of trouble she’ll turn out to be.
Naruto died in the fight against Kaguya, but with the help of the loved ones she left behind, she’s transported to a world so much like her own, facing the very same threat she failed to defeat. With the knowledge of her past and the promise of this future, she works to right the wrongs to protect the lives of those she lost. If she finds love along the way? Well. Naruto always has been Konoha’s number 1 most unpredictable ninja, no matter the world she resides in.

Or: Naruto has a new name, no fox, and a world to save. Kakashi has... visions, feelings, and maybe a thing for redheads. Everything is awful and it's possibly fate.
Yet again, another time travel fic, but I hope I do this AU justice because there are absolute GEMS. Enjoy!
