Returning to Hogwarts finds him wavering under the combined violent efforts of his dormmates, leaving it to Severus to save him again, this time from his own stubborn pride, in the form of an apprenticeship that leaves them living together in the dungeons. At first, Harry is just grateful to be given a new home for the next four years, safe from the traitorous Gryffindors. He could never have suspected how things could change as he gives in to the inevitable closeness with his new Master.
