This is all a lie. He knows it even as he says it. He only hopes he can convince Hannibal. He wants Hannibal to believe the lie. He needs him to believe it, so that he can believe it too.

Will felt a keen apprehension and his heart pounded tensely, but he knew it wasn't him that felt this way. He had no question of where he was going with Hannibal. He knew and accepted, but he apparently needed to convince Hannibal. That was kind of a funny thought, considering he knew how much Hannibal wanted him.
"Please Hannibal," he said because that always worked, but Hannibal just looked at him.
"What are you doing Will?"
"Please. I promise its okay.... Is it okay?"
Or: Will had been working up to this. But he didn't think he would have to convince Hannibal.

After their first few hunts Will had felt... lacking. The rush of adrenaline from the kill was so very satisfying, but once it was over there was nothing. He always felt let down. Not by the kill, but by something he couldn't name and for some reason didn't know.

Will passed out in Hannibals arms and while they hide out in the house at the ocean, old baggage has to be reclaimed and decisions to be made that carry long lasting consequences for everyone involved. But first: Will returns to Baltimore to face unfinished business and Hannibal goes into hiding.
