Summary
The best day of Anakin’s life is simultaneously the worst of his mother’s. Though he knows that Qui-Gon tried hard to free him, and that his mother would have preferred that it were him, a big part of him is far happier that it is his mother who will no longer have to slave away without any hope of seeing returns, even if it means that he will not.
There are a lot of ‘not’s that come with not being free.
Not leaving Tatooine.
Not becoming a Jedi.
Not seeing every star system in the galaxy.
And, a secret part of him whispers, not having to leave my mother.
So, earnestly, over his mother’s quiet weeping, he thanks Qui-Gon Jinn for making sure that at least one Skywalker is free, even if it's not him.
Or
What happens when a slave boy doesn't become a Jedi.

When you look up the term “Butterfly Effect” in the Temple Archives, many examples from across history will appear with explanations written by many Jedi Scholars, but I believe that Master Eno Cordova sums it up the best with the simple phrase, “a butterfly flapping its wings on Lothal can cause a hurricane on Chandrila”. The Butterfly Effect is where one small incident can have a drastic effect in the Galaxy around it.
In this AU I explore what could have been if Padmé had been raised a member of the Jedi Order and Anakin was never found on Tatooine at the age of nine. This reversal of roles can lead to a drastic change in history, one that could even, potentially, change the outcome of the Clone Wars.

There were two things Anakin knew for sure
1. Leaving the order was the best kriffing decision he ever made, besides marrying Padmé.
2. Raising twins was very confusing and extremely exhausting. Especially when they were part him and part Padmé.
“And can you please not talk about me like I’m not here?”
“You shouldn’t be because you should be getting ready or we’re going to be late. Come on, Luke. Get up!” Leia insisted, poking her brother so he would get up off the chair. But Luke didn’t move, just kept scrolling through the datapad.
“Yeah, I’m not going. I’m not really in the mood to be a third-wheeler.” He said, distracted. Leia’s eyes widened and Anakin tensed. He didn’t hear right, right? Of course not, cause that wasn’t possible.
“Luke.” Leia’s voice sounded sharp, in a warning tone. Oh, Force, Anakin didn’t like any of this. There was some kind of secret between the twins, Han Solo was in the middle, and Leia clearly didn’t want him to know. So he had to know.

It was an adjustment, obviously. It was very different from life in the Order. But everything was great. He was great. Not having anything to do was great. And the best of it all was that Obi-Wan was wrong.
Anakin did not need any help with this adaptation.
