Summary
Outside, Paris is cold and slick with a mist that isn't quite rain. The streetlamps cast long, ghostly smudges across the wet asphalt. Daniel shivers immediately, pulling the collar of his jacket up around his ears, his breath pluming in white clouds before him.
Armand doesn't walk; he glides, his long black coat billowing slightly behind him. He doesn't feel the cold, but he notices Daniel’s shudder. Without a word, he reaches out, curling his arm through Daniel’s and pulling him tight against his side.

When Daniel cracks open his coffin, Armand is already perched outside it, eyes luminous in the early evening dark.
“I love you,” Armand says.
Daniel sighs and pushes the lid off his coffin with a satisfying thunk. “No, you don't,” he says wearily, even though it’s getting more and more difficult to look Armand in the eye when he’s like this. “Want to go to IKEA?”
Post-Akasha. Daniel tries to piece together fifty years of his life, Armand gets very into Night Island home renovation, and maybe there's some companionship to be found along the way.
