Summary
He turned instinctively to look over his shoulder, waiting for the snarky quip from him, always trailing just a step behind him. Well- never a step behind him. Never in front of him, either. Or next to him. Four years, and he couldn’t shake the habit forged through a decade of service, to look back for a manservant that had left, hadn’t been seen in the entire kingdom, not even by Archimedes, for four years.
Arthur now lives in Camelot, a knight of the realm. Yet despite the peace and joy he had found, it's not quite right. Merlin is still missing, and the threat of a dragon in the mountains means that Fate is not done with him quite yet.
Merlin is losing himself. He wages war inside his mind, alone and isolated. Four years, and the war is almost lost. Insanity burns in his mind, and yet Destiny will not let him suffer alone. The time of Camelot's Golden Age still awaits, no matter how unwilling he is to go along with it.
