The silence is stark understanding. A sensation that makes her feel naked against his gaze. There’s almost reassurance in that.
She's not looking for sympathy. Being force fed positive affirmations only goes so far if you don't believe them yourself. No matter how much the world loves you, if you can’t even muster up the urge to love yourself then no amount of love can ever reach you.
