Summary
"Oh! Gosh!" Came a flustered voice, the race of an elevated heartbeat pulsing in Dan's ears. "So sorry! Just didn't see you...uh, cause I wasn't looking. Probably should look where I go?"
The voice was tinged in a Northern accent, and Daniel Howell turned to see the one that had barreled into him only to have his last breath stolen from him all over again.
Strands of hair as ebony as raven feathers brushed softly over porcelain skin in a perfect fringe, the most piercing blue eyes staring up at Dan with so much light in them he felt blinded.

Or, the Dark Academia AU where vampire Dan Howell becomes deeply obsessed with psychic Phil Lester.

Summary
Dan feels himself blush. "Thank you. I mean, uh- you're welcome. Or- yeah. Thank you."
Phil giggles - actually fucking giggles - and turns to leave.
Dan feels like he's been set on fire.
His skin feels like it's burning, his heart beating so hard it might burst right out of his ribcage.
"Smooth," PJ says from beside him, and up until that exact moment, he'd honestly forgotten he was there.
"Shut up."
or;
One week, Phil becomes a semi-regular customer at the coffee shop Dan owns and works at.
Dan is all too aware that Phil is trying to make a move. Phil is, respectively, the opposite.

Summary
“She just asked me out,” Phil says, with an almost crazed little giggle. “Me, can you believe it, it was so awkward. I can’t even remember what I said to turn her down. She probably thinks I’m a freak.”
Phil waits for Dan to laugh in surprise, or gasp, or make a stupid joke. Dan says nothing. The baffled smile falls from Phil’s face. Dan’s expression is doing something slow and foreign and complicated, like he’s trying to solve an impossible math problem, or else falling from a very high height.
(phil gets asked out by a semi-famous female singer. he can't remember the last time he's properly fought with dan.)

Summary
“It was unfair, really. It was completely unfair. Because Phil was flirting with him, wasn’t he, had been flirting with him for weeks now, transparently. And he had no idea that he was going to die this year. He had no idea that in all likelihood, Dan was going to have something to do with it. He had no idea that Dan couldn’t kiss him, not ever, no matter how much he wanted to.
Dan looked away. He decided he hated magic, and tarot cards, and knowing the future.”
Or: a Dan and Phil Raven Cycle au. Dan, Phil, a small town, a private school, and a surprising amount of magic. Phil is destined to die in a year. Dan is the only one who knows. He’ll do anything to stop it from happening.

—
After getting a concussion, Phil is forced to face something far more serious than his usual migraines. But he’s fine. Obviously.
Phil is being very normal about it.
Dan is absolutely not.

Summary
At the academy, Dan Howell is famously impossible to date. He turns down every advance with the same answer: he just isn’t interested.
The truth is harder to explain. For years, Dan has lived another life in his dreams. One where he’s already fallen in love with someone he can’t remember when he wakes up. Then Phil Lester transfers into his course. And suddenly things start to feel… familiar.
(Or: the strangers-to-lovers / dream soulmate AU that no one asked for, but I wrote anyway because I wanted it.)
