Summary
Mickey and Ian have somehow surprised themselves and hit the ground running when it comes to parenting their daughter. Mikayla Gallagher burst onto the scene and turned her parents' lives upside down but both Mickey and Ian are learning that maybe that's what they needed to truly find their ways.
Only problem is, now that they're completely on board with trying to add to their family again, things aren't exactly going as planned. Between getting Ian's business up and running and Mickey dealing with insecurities that really should have been hashed out years ago, it's looking like carving out the life they're both hoping for isn't as easy as they'd hoped.

One more time.
One more time and then he can get the fuck out of Dodge, for good.
Mickey scowls at the skyscrapers rising like Lego blocks from downtown, as the plane circles the South Side preparing to land. The smarter part of him says to look away, but he still ends up running his finger over the window, tracing the lines of familiar avenues and parks. Homing in. Waiting for the city to chew him up and spit him out again. He squishes an ant-sized truck on South Halsted under his thumb and turns away.A very long Ian (Pt I & II) and Mickey (Pt III) POV fix-it. Everything is canon through Season 7; started before S8, so divergent from there onwards.
I don't like to give too much plot away (and there's a lot of it), so I'll just say that Ian's chickens come home to roost and he's forced to choose between Mickey and his family once more. It is largely a drama, but there's a solid vein of black humor running through it and sections of fluff and smut, plus a lot of character exploration.

Summary
Ian Gallagher is the President and CEO of one of the most successful investment firms in the country who lives for his job and doesn’t have time for much else, least of all a relationship. Being a shrewd businessman, Ian has managed to make a lot of enemies which he knew came with the territory. But one day that fact hits too close to home when he receives a threat on his life….
Mickey Milkovich is the bodyguard hired to protect Ian. He begins his new job optimistic about the future, especially considering that this new assignment would allow Mickey to be at home with his family when they needed him the most instead of traveling all across the country. But Mickey and his new boss don't get off to the best start.
However, that soon changes and the attraction between them becomes too strong to ignore. Will they be able to keep things professional or will their feelings get in the way of their business relationship? Will Mickey’s carelessness in the past come back to haunt him? Will Mickey be able to keep Ian safe while guarding his own heart? Will Ian let his feelings go against everything he has believed in as a successful business entrepreneur?
