Summary
Stede placed his gentle hands over Ed’s, looking into his soul with stern but sincere eyes.
Ed ripped his hands away, as if he’d been burned.
He was no longer in control, in the same way that months ago Izzy had attempted to touch him the same way. While Izzy and Stede could not be more different on the surface, both of them had a way of ripping away Ed’s layers, and breaking down his walls. Regardless of either of their intentions, it all felt the same, helpless, humiliating, and raw.
“Don’t touch me. Don’t ever fucking touch me. Not again.”
The notion of love was never welcomed in Ed's mind. His father sure didn't love him, and his mother had only whispered it to Ed when she thought he was asleep. It was a weight he carried through the decades, after awhile, after all he had done, the worry of those words ceased to exist, considering no one could ever love him anyway.
Then, Stede came along, and turned Ed inside out.
